Winding Down

Yesterday started early and ended late.  VBS in the morning and another block party in the evening.  The best part of the schedule was that everything was pretty close together and there was time for a nap in the afternoon.  That was fortuitous, to say the least; I wouldn’t have made it otherwise.  After the block party, we held what’s known as the heart ceremony, aka the weepfest.  Another BUMS ritual, in this ceremony, everyone is given two heart-shaped sticky notes and they walk around the room giving a piece of their heart to anyone who touched them this week.  I want to take this moment to let you know that Andrew, our inestimable youth director, cried like a baby the whole time.  I, however, remained strong and never shed a tear…, not.  To be honest, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house and it was amazing.

Today, we’re heading to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio.  While it should be tons of fun, it will be a very long day.  As we’re rolling out early tomorrow morning for our glorious return home, this will probably my last edition of this blog from the road.   Sunday, I’ll do a final wrap up and fill you in on all the little odds and ends I’ve missed while thrust into to the middle of things this week.  Until then…

P.S.  There are also new pictures on my Facebook page taken in this last 3 days.
